Trying to throw food through a closed window
When you are really shy, saying no to people is a big challenge. You get invited to many parties, dinners, and events that you probably do not want to go to, but you still attend them just in fear that you might seem rude to the person who invited you.
What @MaxDeLigne did was not probably the best move, especially if they did not check if the window was indeed opened or closed. But we get that it can be overwhelming for some to reject a dinner invitation, even more so if they invite you for a big steak.
