Traveling Soon? We Have Some Skin Care Tips for That

It can be very easy to forget about your skin when you’re traveling, and we know that sounds harsh but when you’ve got flight times, new sights, Airbnb check-ins, and all of that new food you can’t wait to try on the brain, it’s easy to forget a few things. But don’t worry because we put together an easy-to-follow guide on making sure you take care of the skin you’re in no matter where in the world you may be.

Face Wipes Are a Must

We aren’t saying face wipes should replace your normal skin routine, but they are great to have on hand while you’re traveling because one, they can be used as a replacement to the skincare products your hotel offers that are oftentimes harsh on your skin and can dry your skin out, and two, you can use them anywhere – in an Uber, after the beach, before dinner, or any other time your skin just needs to feel refreshed.

Always Take the Time to Put on Sunscreen

If you’re like us, it’s not the initial application of sunscreen, but the whole reapplying it part that we tend to forget so we recommend setting a timer or an alarm on your phone because you’ll regret it big time if you wake up with lobster face. Make sure you’re using an SPF of at least 30 and hats are always a great idea.

Hit the Mist

Facial mist is actually a genius product to have on you at all times, but especially when you’re traveling. A travel-sized bottle can be thrown in your bag and you can hydrate and refresh throughout your trip as you need to. It’s also worth noting that keeping one in the fridge wherever you’re staying is a great idea, especially if you’re traveling somewhere warm because nothing will feel quite as refreshing as a cold facial spritz.

Hands Away From Your Face

This is a cardinal rule of skincare, but it’s especially true when you’re traveling because you’re being exposed to so many new germs.

…to your favorite facial cleanser, that is. Before you go on your trip, make sure you have plenty of the facial cleanser you know and love the most. At the end of the day, your cleanser is going to ensure your skin is clean and cared for, so packing this (and plenty of it!) is essential.

Moisturizing Mama

It’s not unusual for your skin to dry out while you’re on vacation, that’s why it’s extra important that you remember to pack and use your moisturizer. If you’re boarding an airplane, go ahead and apply moisturizer before you board because the air inside of airplanes is notoriously dry.
