In “The Cheating Curve,” Charlotte discusses the ups and downs of relationships with Carrie. At the beginning of the episode, Charlotte has a great sell in the gallery, especially as ”power lesbians’ flock to see her collection. Samantha starts to go out with her gym instructor Thor. Carrie goes on a secret date with Mr. Big without telling her friends. Miranda is in love with a pretentious documentary movie buff. He tries to get her in the mood by making her watch porn.
Charlotte later finds out about her cheating boyfriend. The show ends on the note of Charlotte’s decision to become a lesbian. Samantha advises her friend to be herself, as shown in Twyla’s illustration above. Listening to many suggestions and expectations of dating in her head might mislead her. The episode is a turning point for Charlotte because she realizes she might not fit into what she thinks she could.
