Teachers thought their students wouldn’t carry calculators in their pockets
From the way we see it, there are two types of people in this world—those who love Math and those who don’t get it no matter how hard they try. Fortunately, we can always carry a calculator in our pockets.
However, calculators were as heavy as a brick a few years ago. So, teachers told their students that they needed to train their mental Math ability because they won’t always have a calculator at hand. Needless to say, technology has proven old-fashioned teachers wrong.
