In 1999, using a computer was part of everyone’s daily lives. However, people were worried about a malfunction during the turn of the century. People started to be paranoid about a possible computer crisis. So, those devices came with reminders like the one in the picture.
The only way to avoid the electronic disaster was to turn off your computer before midnight on December 31, 1999. Either the Y2K error was a lie, or everyone remembered to turn off their computers and managed to save the world.
