Paul Krugman believed the Internet wouldn’t affect the economy
The internet is undoubtedly one of humankind’s best modern inventions. It has changed the way we communicate, study, and work. We can’t imagine living without full connectivity. Considering how dependent we are on the World Wide Web these days, this quote from 1998 is quite surprising.
The award-winning economist Paul Krugman didn’t believe in the power of the Internet. He thought it’d become as obsolete as fax machines by 2005. Besides, he was sure it’d have little effect on the economy. Well, it’s safe to say that he was very wrong.
