Given that batteries contain toxic and hazardous materials, they must be kept out of the way of young children and pets. The person who took their broken radio to get repaired was seemingly unaware of this fact.

As it turns out, the device wasn’t broken. The problem lay in the triple-A Duracell batteries used to operate the radio, which this person’s dog had chewed on. At least it was an easy fix that just involved a battery change.
