One thing about rumors is that they continue to morph with every single mouth they leave. It continues to change until it is so far from the original tale that only the real people involved can tell precisely what happened. Fighting among kids is inevitable, and the bus driver likely inspected the injury and found that it wasn’t as serious as it looked.
I wonder what would make the kids believe he died. How did that narrative come about? Did he pass out at some point? Wouldn’t he have continued to cry out in pain? It’s so crazy how stories get adapted.
