Pregnant Victim Forced to Follow Rules of a Religious Home
Pregnancy in high school is a terrifying experience, plus it stirs the tongue of vicious gossipers and often results in loss of self-esteem in the affected students. For a victim of rape, it is much worse. The shame, the self-blame, and the hatred for themselves and their unborn child are endless and made worse by the criticism of their peers.
No one should be forced to deal with this, especially for religion or other reasons. This is something that doesn’t just go away. This young girl would have to live with this her entire life! She should have been given a choice, like every woman. Now, people will talk, and every tongue that wags will serve as a reminder of something she wants to forget. It is the height of cruelty, and no child deserves to live like that.
