When you have a scar that does not have a well-defined shape, you can always try to give it some sense with some linework tattoo. You can take the carrot from a few pictures back as an example. Or, you can do as the person below and add a side tattoo.
This tiny diver is barely noticeable from afar. Still, if you pay attention to the whole scene, the scar clearly becomes a sort of cliff from where the little figure jumped. You can tell that the tattoo artist took advantage of this long scar when they came up with the final design.
