The OBGYN was either overwhelmed or had serious memory problems
People in the medical field are often overworked. If you work at a hospital, extra-long shifts and being on call for entire days can dull anybody’s mental capacity. It is easy to get confused or find it harder to retain information when tired. Nevertheless, the following anecdote will have you scratching your head, wondering how this doctor could feel tired enough to ask that.
To miss something as obvious as being six months pregnant, he had to be indeed out of it. The protruding belly is pretty much a dead giveaway for a pregnant woman. The strangest thing about this story, though, is that he was the OB, which means he had been treating this patient for twenty-six weeks!
