This doctor seemed to believe that sinuses connect to the urinary tract

When a patient comes in with an undiagnosed illness, they will probably be subjected to several tests to determine the problem. What if they already had a diagnosis? Of course, it is good practice to re-confirm it to ensure there have been no mistakes. Ordering extra tests that have nothing to do with the initial conclusion does not sound very logical, though.

Asking for a urine sample from a patient that has a sinus infection sounds like a bizarre decision to make. Maybe they were worried the initial conclusion was wrong, or perhaps they just mistook them for another patient. Can a runny nose be a symptom of a urinary tract infection? We do not know. We will have to ask this doctor.
