Carl from Up: Bored but flying
After losing the love of his life Ellie, Carl completely loses his hunger for adventure and goes on to lead a boring life. The protagonist of Pixar Studio’s “Up,” Carl Fredricksen thrived for adventure. His childhood idol, Charles Muntz, was his source of motivation to explore every corner of the world and seek adventure at every turn of life. However, soon after losing his wife Ellie, his partner in all those adventures, Carl also lost his adventurism.
The tattoo features those bored and uninterested expressions of old Carl. However, the repressed sense of adventurism in Carl’s heart since he lost Ellie is depicted by the floating balloons he is holding onto. What appears to be a normal picture has a beautiful underlying message, to never let go!
