Check out the redesigns of the Volkswagen logo
The Volkswagen logo has a history dating back to 1938. The German army heavily influenced this logo. In fact, the pre-World War II emblem clearly resembles the dictatorial state culture of 1940. The logo of this car company was slightly modified in 1996 and then again in 2000.
The VW logo seen today is simply the company’s initials. Volks is a German term that means “people,” and Wagen means “vehicle.” Mr. Rieger, Volkswagen’s general director, explained that the new paint job represents peacetime because the firm had gone through a historic period of conflict.
