Egyptians believed cats were magical creatures
If we look into Egyptian mythology, we will notice how cats have always been adored in this region. Apparently, Bastet, a goddess with a cat’s head, was worshipped by the ancient Egyptians. Here is the graphic proof.
And, as this person’s comment indicates, they saw the likeness between this cat and the deity in question. It is funny how an innocent coincidence may lead us to believe the most bizarre things. Anyway, this lovely kitten looks adorable.
