Poor Chrysippus had the weirdest death of all time
We all use the expression “to die of laughter” as a figure of speech. However, we know that there is no such thing as laughing yourself to death, right? Well, apparently, there have been some documented cases of people who have died of laughing uncontrollably. Chrysippus is one of them.
Chrysippus was a Greek philosopher and one of the founders of the school of Stoicism. The most famous account of his death is the story you can see in the picture above. A donkey eating figs does not seem like a funny enough reason to die of laughter, but we cannot judge.
