The Silence of the Lambs was based on the best-selling 1988 novel by Thomas Harris. It was released on Valentine’s Day, 1991, and became a massive success, rating 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. It is also the third film to win all the “Big Five” Oscars—Best Picture, Actor, Actress, Director, and Screenplay.
The house featured in the classic horror-thriller where Buffalo Bill stalks Clarice Starling is located in rural Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh. In 2016, it sold for nearly $200,000. It remains an iconic monument to this day.
