Ibtihaj Muhammad Barbie

Ibtihaj Muhammad is a member of the United States fencing team and a high-end saber fencer. She is the first Muslim American woman to wear a hijab while competing for the U.S. in the Olympics, and she also won an Olympic medal while wearing it! Considering that women were forbidden from fencing until 1924, this is definitely a huge accomplishment.

Ibtihaj said she used to make tiny hijabs for her dolls to look more like her and her sister, so having a Barbie made in her likeness would feel surreal.
