This person believed celebrating the lunar new year was not for everyone
Cultural appropriation is a very delicate subject. There is a very fine line between paying homage to a certain culture’s traditions and disrespecting them, and it can be hard for outsiders to realize where that line is.
That said, arguing that no one outside the Asian community is allowed to celebrate Lunar New Year unless they were invited by an Asian person is a bit extreme. So, as an Asian person, the replier formally invited everyone on Twitter to celebrate.
