Besides being home to the second-longest river in the US, Mississippi has the lowest cost of living of any state. Moreover, this state offers the lowest housing prices in the country, which makes it an excellent retirement spot for senior citizens.
Despite its friendly taxes and affordable housing, Mississippi is one of the states with the worst healthcare system in the US. Apart from lacking healthcare professionals, they also lack the much-needed infrastructure to treat retirees and their delicate health conditions.
