With a freshwater coastline, beautiful mild summers, and an impressive number of golf courses, Michigan is a dream for many retirees. Apart from that, this state offers fairly good retirement taxes, an excellent healthcare system, and a low cost of living.
Despite the fact that housing is affordable in Michigan, its average property tax rate is higher than in the rest of the country. Other significant drawbacks of moving to this state are its unpredictable weather and harsh winters with frigid temperatures.
