Mae West wore diamond jewelry in She Done Him Wrong (1933)
Those who’ve seen pictures of Mae West know that the beautiful actress was notorious for loving diamond jewelry and wearing it whenever she got a chance. Still, there’s something that makes the shiny bling she put on in She Done Him Wrong special.
Although it may be hard to believe, West purchased most of the jewelry she wears in the movie with her own money, from the chandelier diamond earrings to her wrist full of gems. Then, a few years later, Mae sold most of it to donate to the war effort.
