Acknowledging the Redhead Gene During Knee Surgery
When going for knee surgery, you must remember that the knee area can be very delicate because if anything goes wrong, you may lose your walking ability. This is the case of a person in the ’90s that went in for knee surgery and mid-way through the procedure woke up fully, seeing wide-eyed masked faces that turned and stared at this patient, who just snapped awake.
This patient told the doctor they did not want to be awake for the procedure. The doctor administered another dose of sedative to the patient, who went back under immediately. They had to apologize to this patient after the surgery because the doctor was informed about administering more than the standard dose of anesthesia.
