You’ve been boiling pasta wrong this whole time

A classic mistake even professional chefs make is pouring in olive oil while boiling the pasta because it is supposed to ‘prevent them from sticking.’ You might want to consider a fact or two before wasting some of that precious liquid.

Firstly, since oil and water are immiscible, the poured oil will just float on the boiling water rather than coating the pasta. Secondly, all that oil will go down the sink and might clog your drain. If you must use oil to prevent pasta from sticking, use it after boiling and draining the pasta, it’ll reap better results.
