It turned out the stencil was inverted
When getting inked it is important to check and re-check the stencil’s placement so the end result comes out exactly as you wish. Artists know this, which is why they are usually understanding and let you make any modifications you want.
However, in this person’s case, they only realized the stencil was placed the other way around when the piece was finished. The worst part is that the guy even passed out during the session. All that suffering for nothing.
