Heartburn is common during pregnancy, so it is no surprise this woman was diagnosed with the condition. After all, she presented with radiating pain around the ribs and was six months pregnant at the time. The mistake came later.
She was in and out of the emergency room for two years with ever-worsening pain. Doctors should have suspected something, given that the symptoms persisted even after pregnancy. Luckily for her, she insisted and managed to fix the problem in time.
