Inducing an asthma attack in your patient isn’t the correct way to diagnose them
Asthma is one of the most common long-term diseases in children. It’s easy to recognize because it causes wheezing, breathlessness, and coughing after any physical effort. If you have an asthma attack and don’t treat it on time, you can pass out or damage your lungs.
This doctor certainly has a cruel way of diagnosing their patients. Instead of asking for a spirometry test, they wanted their little patient to run until they got an asthma attack. Fortunately, the kid’s mother realized how unethical that practice would be.
