A really impressive mistake
I could not really blame the person who left the iron on this kitchen counter. Given that people leave hot irons in places that are much more dangerous, it seems only logical to place them on the counter. There is a “however,” though.
An iron should be left standing, which means it should never be left sitting on the side that gets hot. I have never seen such a hole before. It really is impressive ─ both human stupidity and the shape of that hole made by the heat. It seems to me both will last forever.
