Maybe the Bed was Too Hard
Ever heard the saying, “you made your bed, so shall you lie in it”? This means that you must face the consequences of your decisions, but now we aren’t focused on the meaning, just figurative sense. The bed was probably not doing it for this guy.
Think about it, why would anyone choose a pile of clothes over a good bed? Maybe the bed was too hard or too soft for him. You can’t say! If he prefers to sleep on a pile of clothes, so be it!
