Hm… we never thought of that. How is it that characters in the Halloween movies never hear Michael Myers “sneaking up” on them from behind? You’d think with huge work boots like the ones he has on, his footsteps would be audible from a mile away. It just doesn’t make any sense, does it?
As for the average horror movie watcher, we can see how serial killers can creep up on us. First of all, we never watch movies without a tub of snacks. So, the crunch-crunch-crunch of popcorn, candy, and peanuts will drown out any ambient noises, including Myers’ Timbaland boots.
