Was his friend just trying to be mean?
Why would anyone say something like this? It is such a backhanded comment. But to be honest, it made us laugh a little. We now need to see the shirt Ed was wearing to understand why it got such a nasty comment.
What does it mean to say they could change their shirt when their father got a job? Is there a “My dad doesn’t have a job” shirt we are unaware of? Let’s hope for Ed’s sake that it was, in fact, a nice shirt, and his friend was only jealous.
