Some stairs are just not made for clumsy people
Why would an interior designer allow such a staircase to be constructed? The person who built and erected the top of these stairs did not have common sense, and we can only guess how many people have fallen when exiting this chamber.
Consider someone who is late and rushes out of their room, completely overlooking the stairwell. That would be one painful fall, but it would be a decent reason for their delay. If this house is sold, the landing and stairs should be repaired so that no one else gets injured.
