A church in Port Gibson has a gold finger pointing at the sky
The churches in Europe are generally decorated both inside and out. They have the most intricate façades with colorful stained glass windows. However, in America, things are quite different. While there are some examples of exorbitant temples, like the Cathedral of New York, most of them are only decorated with a simple cross.
However, the First Presbyterian Church in Port Gibson, Mississippi, is unlike other churches. Instead of a cross, they have a golden hand at the top of their steeple. It has one finger pointing up towards the sky, which is supposed to represent a typical gesture of the church’s first minister.
