We doubt if there is even an ‘authentic’ recipe for a casserole. Americans will just pour in a little bit of canned everything together in a pot, top it off with inches of cheese and bake it to call this dish a ‘casserole,’ which is surprisingly one of those dishes you associate American cuisine with.

While similar dishes can be found in other countries, like Italian lasagna, the heavy dependency on canned foods and using everything you can get your hands on- like the famous Thanksgiving green bean casserole- make it much more of an America-exclusive recipe.
