Using disposable plates to avoid doing the dishes
Now, we all know doing the dishes seems like a chore, but Americans adopted a clever shortcut to avoid this. We are surprised this isn’t more common in other places as well, but one might argue that it contributes to plastic waste. Using disposable things is a blessing in disguise for American students or young people renting places who can’t bother to clean the dishes.
We wonder if it costs them more than buying proper cutlery once and then using them repeatedly or when they buy a bunch of disposable cutlery for their day-to-day use. One thing is for sure: it saves them a lot on water, dish soap, and most importantly, the pain of washing the dishes!
