This is a perfect example of how the American accent works and makes many things sound weird that non-Americans might take a while to grasp. While there are some words from which the ‘h’ is taken away, some are given ‘h’ unnecessarily!

Now no “Family Guy” or Stewie jokes intended, but Americans really do pronounce some words like ‘hWhat’ or ‘hWhip,’ that other people couldn’t help but feel a certain inexplicable uneasiness around.
