Even if you haven’t been to the United States to witness or experience this, we’re sure that you know this stereotype from many US-based TV shows. It is known that American colleges and universities aggressively promote social groups and organizations aimed at various social activities apart from academics.

An important and indispensable part of college life in the United States, these social groups help young adults build a feeling of brotherhood and belongingness with each other and develop their leadership skills at events. They are also quite active in socializing with other groups, which is a fun experience. You won’t find a lot of these groups in other countries. In the United Kingdom, for example, the main emphasis is on academics only, and co-curricular activities in college aren’t that big of a thing.
