He wasn’t clear enough with his question
Sometimes, girls can be mean to guys who like them or treat them nicely. Nobody knows why, but for some reason, the nice guy always gets played or makes a fool out of himself. This poor guy made the first move, offered to take her to homecoming, and even waited for her when she didn’t show up, and yet, was humiliated in the end.
We’d imagine that he went straight home after such humiliation. Not to side with the girl, but she had a point. If he’d been more specific, he could’ve saved himself the embarrassment!
