You should not have Dexter as an inspiration to get into college
We do not want to give out any misleading advice, but being honest is not always the best move to get into college. The problem is that while admission officers love that applicants can be honest and open up about themselves, they do not want to know anything too personal.
A good piece of advice is to say what you want to write out loud before putting it in your essay. If what you hear sounds a bit weird, you can try changing it up. For starters, you can avoid saying that you want to be like Dexter, the fictional serial killer.
