Unreturned book makes dad look bad
As a parent, having your children not returning items would be frustrating because, ultimately, borrowing something and not giving it back is stealing ─ although this burglary was accidental. This person’s father got upset about a non-returned book for a different reason, though.
He couldn’t care less about people thinking he raised a thief. He was concerned about his credit scores because his kid’s card was in his name. Imagine raising a thief and having people think you are the one stealing. There is a book plot right there.
