Minion merchandise is one of the largest in the world
Like most movies from Universal Studios, there is often a marketing scheme to help get the public excited about seeing the movie. During the weeks leading up to the box office premiere of the Minions, retail stores and other big brands were filled with a wide variety of Minion-themed merchandise and products. This merch is still popular even when there aren’t any new Minion-themed movies hitting cinemas.
Many different kinds of companies were involved in the partnership, including McDonald’s, Tic Tac, Hostess, Amazon, and Kotex. Major media companies like the UK’s Sky Broadband, China’s VIVO, and Universal’s parent company Comcast also joined in this successful and profitable partnership.
